Are you looking for an adventure in Africa — something that is not only a fantastic experience but also a trip with purpose and meaning? We host groups of any background and skill, arranging the right project for you: health, building, education and community development projects ready to go. You will experience the real Uganda at our project sites in Kampala and upcountry, and enjoy a fantastic safari at Queen Elizabeth National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (the heart of gorilla trekking), staying at Enganzi Game Lodge and Buhoma Community Rest Camp as you explore the wildlife of the Pearl of Africa.

Teams of 5 or more $2,130USD / person

Cost includes all transport, meals, accommodation, water, safari park fees, and the accommodation listed in the itinerary.

Payment

  • Confirmation deposit 1 month out — $500 USD, payable to the Kampala Skateboard Initiative account (non-refundable).
  • Balance payable 3 weeks from departure to the Kampala Skateboard Initiative account. Our team can help guide you on visas and airfares, but you book those yourself.

Good to know

  • Each traveller commits to raising a minimum of $500 USD toward the community project the group works on — through product sales, donations, car washes or fundraiser events. Funds raised for project activities are tax deductible.
  • Share the adventure with friends, family and workmates — experience African culture and make memories that inspire a new perspective on life.

Your 8 Days

Day 1 — Friday Arrival
  • Arrival at Entebbe International Airport. You are welcomed, picked up and transferred to Georgina Gardens Hotel by the KSI team — grab a coffee and a snack to refresh.
Day 2 — Saturday At the KSI base
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Detailed briefing and orientation to ensure a smooth start to your Uganda adventure.
  • Transfer to the Kampala Skateboard Initiative ground.
  • Preparation and cooking of local food with the kids.
  • Community walk — visit families in the areas the kids come from and share encouragement.
  • Lunch at the base with the kids (help serve the food).
  • Activities with the kids: skating on dirt, dancing, soccer, and more.
  • Return to the hotel; dinner at the hotel or a night out in Kampala.
  • Included meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner, coffee and bottled water.
Day 3 — Sunday Life in Kampala
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Life in Kampala — a boda boda (local transport) experience and a visit to the biggest local markets in Uganda.
  • Visit the African craft market (optional shopping for crafts and souvenirs).
  • Delicious lunch in Kampala.
  • Ndere Cultural Centre — Uganda’s premier cultural hub, with traditional dance performances showcasing the tribes of Uganda and East Africa (optional, +$40 entry fee).
  • Return to the hotel; dinner at the hotel.
  • Included meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner, coffee and bottled water.
Day 4 — Monday Queen Elizabeth National Park
  • Breakfast.
  • Depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park in southwestern Uganda — a scenic drive west through rural towns, farmlands and tea plantations.
  • Stop by the Equator Monument, where the earth divides into the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.
  • Lunch stop.
  • Arrival at Queen Elizabeth National Park; check in at your lodge and relax over the surrounding views.
  • Afternoon/evening boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel — a highlight known for hippos, crocodiles, water birds, elephants, buffaloes and antelopes.
  • Dinner at the game lodge.
Day 5 — Tuesday Game drive & Rukungiri
  • Breakfast.
  • Morning game drive — the perfect time to catch lions, leopards and hyenas hunting. See four of the Big Five, plus antelopes, warthogs and numerous bird species.
  • Depart for Rukungiri District, Uganda’s hilly hub, where KSI has started a life-changing skateboarding project offering education and mentorship.
  • Arrival in Rukungiri at Lorycon Hotel; lunch.
  • Community walks and background history of the area.
  • Return to the hotel; dinner.
Day 6 — Wednesday Gardens & kids programs
  • Breakfast.
  • Morning garden experience and sunset views.
  • School engagements; lunch.
  • Kids programs — face painting, volleyball, soccer, dancing and more.
  • Goat roasting and a night camp fire, relaxing to the sounds of the birds.
  • Return to the hotel.
Day 7 — Thursday Bwindi gorilla trekking
  • Breakfast.
  • Depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest through scenic countryside and landscapes.
  • Arrival and hotel check-in at Buhoma Community Rest Camp; lunch.
  • Transfer to the park headquarters for registration and briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers.
  • Gorilla trekking begins (takes between 2 and 5 hours). Once found, spend time observing the gorillas, taking pictures and videos.
  • Return to the hotel to rest and reflect on the experience; dinner.
Day 8 — Friday Farewell
  • Breakfast, preparations and departure.
  • Return to Kampala; lunch at a planned stop.
  • Visit the Kampala Skateboard Initiative kids for a farewell goodbye.
  • Depart for Entebbe International Airport. End of the tour.
